How Organizational Stakeholder Commitment ensure IS/IT Benefits

About The Book

This book looks at the role that stakeholder commitment plays in the realisation of expected benefits for an information system project in a healthcare setting. A qualitative interpretative case-based research strategy was implemented. The Three Component Model of Organizational Commitment and Technological Frames of Reference provided the theoretical grounding for analysing the collected data. A resulting theoretical framework is proposed to reduce the many issues associated with the implementation of Healthcare Information Systems in healthcare organizations enabling them to quickly achieve the expected benefits. The book has seven chapters. The first chapter contains a brief description of the subject under study and the reasons for undertaking the research. The chapters 2 and 3 include a literature review of the principal subjects. In the fourth chapter the philosophical perspective and adopted research strategy are discussed. Chapter 5 describes the relevant issues found in each case while Chapter 6 espouses the interpretation and analysis of the cases. Finally in the seventh Chapter the findings and main conclusions are presented.
