About The Book

This work consists in diagnosing and finding ways to fight urogenital infections in women by evaluating the antimicrobial activity of antibiotics essential oil of Pistacia lentiscus L. species as well as the antagonistic effect of twovaginal Lactobacillus on Candida albicans. The isolation and identification of infectious germs from 19 cases of female population allowed us to obtain: Escherichia coli Klebsiella ornithinolytica and Serratia odorifera1 Staphylococcus Streptococcus and Candida albicans. The antibiogram showed that the antibiotic Riphampicin was the most active against the studied germs; the maximum inhibition zone being 28 mm on the two staphylococcus strains. The aromatogram showed that the essential oil of Pistacia lentiscus L pure (100%) was more or less active than the one emulsified at 50% with a maximum inhibition zone of 17 mm on Streptococcus sp. The antagonism test carried out by the method of double layers and wells on Candida albicans showed that the two lactobacillus used had no antagonistic effect on the latter.
