HR & HRD Fundamentals

Human resource is an important and essential part of different organisations irrespective of the size of the organisation and the industry. The HR department of any organisation basically serves as the link between the top management of the organisation and its employees and at the same time it makes sure that the employees of the organisation should be able to work together to achieve the organisational goal. Any organisation has different types of functions and HR management is also one of the important functions of the organisation and if the top management fails to connect the HR functions with other organisational functions then the business goals cannot be achieved. Therefore it is an important task of the top management to make sure that the HR system is properly aligned with the business goals and different other departmental functions so that there should be clarity in everyone's job roles and responsibilities. In this discussion we need to bring the other important factor called HRD i.e. human resource development which is primarily concerned with the employee's personal and professional growth and at the same time it should be properly aligned with the organisational goals as well because by applying the HRD systems the organisation would be able to monitor the required competencies for any task and the commitment level of the employee.
