Human Rights Implications of the Nigerian Same Sex Marriage Prohibition Act 2013

The work examines generally the Nigerian legislations criminalizing same sex relations and particularly the 2013 Same Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Act which makes it a criminal offence for a person to engage in same sex marriage in Nigeria; or being already married outside Nigeria to declare such union illegal in Nigeria. The focus of the work is the impact of these legislations on certain constitutional and internationally-recognised rights of persons which these laws apparently violate.
