In my first book Braiding Generations I wrote about my family in intimate detail but I did not elaborate on my work as a surgeon.Human Side of a Surgeon explores unpredictable events that occurred in surgical theaters over several decades as ground breaking technologies introduced new procedures in this field of medicine. While relating the everyday happenstances in which injuries befall ordinary people the book considers the humor and insights that arise while rendering the emotional landscape of a surgeon. The orthopedic surgeon is the end of the line for emergency services.
