Hurricane with Flying Tree and Other Drawings

Ms. Street an award-winning fine artist received a BFA in Fine Art from Cornell University in 1956 In 2005 Ms. Street lost her house and many possessions in 2005 when Hurricane Katrina destroyed her home in Pass Christian MS. She had started drawing with ink and colored pencils while in MS and has been working with those materials ever since. After the hurricane she made Western Massachusetts her home and continued to do drawings in colored pencil on paper. The subject matter of many of her pictures is hurricanes but she also draws more cheerful things such as flowers plants the sun the moon the ocean sailboats spider webs crabs fruit vegetables barns bottles trees fields fences animals and people and buildings that are not being blown away in a storm. This book features fifty-seven original colored pencil drawings on paper by the artist.
