<p>Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is a myocardial disorder characterized by left ventricular hypertrophy which cannot be entirely attributed to loading conditions such as valve or congenital heart disease or hypertension. This condition is relatively common with a prevalence of 1:250-500 individuals and is linked to increased rates of mortality and morbidity.
