<p><em>I Can Catch Anything </em>mines memory and deep familial bond. The author's Pushcart winning prize How to Be a Cowgirl is a song of praise to the Ozarks and to the possibilities of childhood. The author explores the relationship of deep admiration and conflict with her father who instilled in his daughter a love of fishing and of the Chesapeake Bay. The poems trace the development of the author's career as an emergency physician that was inspired by an Uncle and his love of healing as an Ob-Gyn. They explore not only the joys of her practice but also her grief over the death of a patient.
