<p>This picture book <u>I Lost My Tooth</u> is one of subtle but significant meaning. It is with minimal and predictable text. The main character Walrus makes a perfect subject as his two long teeth are so notable in defining his character. Multiple other characters within the mammalian family cry out proclaiming they too have lost a tooth. The stress of loss is resolved and hope is restored to all other animals when Walrus grows a second tooth as most mammals do. The black and white illustrations are bold simple loveable and memorable. The backgrounds foregrounds and inner text are painted with a toothbrush using various techniques.
