I May Have CP But It Doesn't Have Me

This is my life story and how I live with cerebral palsy. In this story I write about the many obstacles that I overcame despite my disability. Living with a disability doesn't mean you stop living. Life is not easy. It can be filled with many obstacles but for those living with a disability like cerebral palsy the obstacles can sometimes seem overwhelming. In her frank and inspirational memoir Kim Henchen chronicles a life with cerebral palsy-the challenges and the frustrations along with the joy and the love she has experienced. And while Kim requires assistance for many everyday activities such as getting dressed and eating she is not bitter. Rather she is grateful for the good things in her life and celebrates her many accomplishments with pride. Kim's memoir serves to remind others that people with disabilities have dreams and feelings and goals. I want people to know that I have cerebral palsy...but it doesn't have me!
