I Paula de Eguiluz; where do I stand?

The text shows the conditions of a woman in the American colonial society of the 17th century. She confronts the power of the Spanish crown represented in an institution such as the Holy Office which was characterized among other activities to persecute censure repress and control the activities in the magical arts that many women at that time were engaged in as a trade outside the home.The process that took place in the Holy Inquisition shows us how a woman was treated and how she defends herself and responds to the accusations of the court. It is important within the process the discursive elements of the court and the defense.
