In 1994 an African American family is involved in a violent altercation with members of a White supremacy gang in Toledo Ohio. When one of the members of the gang is killed three of the family members are charged and convicted of his death.Never before having been incarcerated and sentenced to nine to twenty-five years in prison. The protagonist must learn how to survive in the volatile prison subculture of rape prostitution and murder. I Stood Alone is a true story of family friendship love survival and spirituality. The story grab its readers from the beginning keeping them intrigued until the end of the story.
