تدور أحداث هذه الرواية بين مشرحة، عيادة، وغرفة تحقيق تُستجوَب فيها امرأةٌ متّهمةٌ بمقتل زوجها. في الطرف الآخر من المدينة يجتمع مناضلون قدامى، لرفع تهمة العمالة التي لُفّقَت لهم. أحد هؤلاء المناضلين هو والد المتّهمة، الذي سيخضع بدوره للتحقيق في قضيّة ابنته نفسها. تؤرّخ الرواية لنصف قرنٍ من تاريخ الجزائر، من الحرب العالميّة الثانية حتّى مطلع التسعينيّات، مرورًا بحرب التحرير وما تلاها. وتكشف اللثام عن أزماتٍ اجتماعيّةٍ مسكوتٍ عنها مثل: الشروخ بين الأجيال، الهوّة بين الآباء والأبناء، الزيجات الفاشلة والهرب منها إلى العلاقات السرّيّة، الأمومة ومشقّاتها، التبرّع بالأعضاء البشريّة والاتجار بها بين تجاوز القانون وإنقاذ مَن فقدها...وتُصوّر بسردٍ بارعٍ أناسًا انتهتْ بهم الحياة أسرى أقدارهم، عُلّقَتْ مصائرهم بمصير شخصٍ واحد فقط؛ صحافيٍّ ينتظرون وصوله من العاصمة. وبذات البراعة تصوّر الانتظار المحموم للمنتظِرين، بين يأسٍ غير تامّ وأملٍ غير مكتمل. رواية الخاصّ والعامّ، ورواية اغتراب الذوات داخل أزماتها.تسير حبكة الرواية سيرًا تصاعديًّا لا يملك معه المتلقّي سوى مواصلة القراءة بهاء بن نوّار - كرّاس الثقافة (الجزائر) ، عن رواية نهاية الصحراء.The story of this novel unfolds between a morgue a clinic and an interrogation room. A woman is accused of murdering her husband. On the other side of the city former militants gather to overturn a charge of treason against one of them. One of these militants is the father of the accused woman who will also be questioned in the case involving his own daughter.The novel traces half a century of Algerian history from World War II to the early 1990s passing through the War of Liberation and its aftermath. It sheds light on often unspoken social crises such as generational divides the gap between parents and children failed marriages and their escape into secret relationships motherhood and its challenges as well as organ donation and trafficking-balancing between legal transgressions and the necessity of saving lives.With masterful storytelling the novel portrays characters trapped by fate whose lives seem to hinge on the arrival of a journalist from the capital. With equal finesse it captures the anxious anticipation of those waiting-between incomplete despair and uncertain hope.A novel that intertwines the personal and the collective revealing the alienation of individuals amid their personal crises.
