The aim of this research is to synthesize Lu1Gd2Ga2Al3O12 (LuAG) phosphors doped with rare earths. Then to characterize the synthesized phosphors with several techniques. The rare earth doped LuAG phosphors having broad emission and absorption spectra that broadens their application in many fields. In high energy physics and nuclear physics LuAG scintillator materials with photodetectors are used for detecting particles and high- energy photons. Moreover LuAG have medical applications and are used in medical imaging instruments for X-ray computed tomography (CT) and positron emission tomography (PET).
