This book explores the identification of small-scale multipurpose hydropower potential in upper Assam emphasizing sustainable energy solutions. It integrates hydrology geology and geo-mechanics to assess and prioritize sites for mini micro and pico hydropower projects. The study employs comprehensive flow and head analyses geo-mechanical testing and morphotectonic assessments to ensure site feasibility and safety in a seismically active region. This research advocates for low-impact scalable solutions that support energy access irrigation and rural development by addressing challenges associated with large-scale dams such as environmental impact and community displacement. The findings offer a model for harnessing untapped hydropower potential in Northeast India paving the way for sustainable development while minimizing ecological disruption. This work is ideal for researchers policymakers and engineers. It bridges the gap between resource potential and practical implementation presenting a vision for resilient community-focused energy infrastructure.
