About The Book

IDENTITYIdentity is what somebody is made out to be socially racially culturally nationally etc. by the outside world. In brief it is how the world does or chooses to know an individual human being. It therefore is a construction with identity politics as its by-product. Ironically most humans would find themselves strangers if they were to accept the identity constructed for them. When an entire lifetime falls short for one to know oneself how can one know the other let alone give it a name? Thus identity is an impossibility. Yet we all yearn to know and let the world know who we are. In our quest for ourselves we discover opposites cohabiting rather than confronting. At times we are not what we think we are. We love what we hate and hate what we love. And so on. Who we are continually flows into what we become. It is this fluidity that makes all illogicality implausibility about identity pale into nothingness when we colour them into painting or poetry. And they morph into music…..  The poems in the volume are an attempt towards portraying the puzzle that identity is rather than make sense of it.
