Images of Old Age and Critical Theory

This work essentially revives interest in social history from a critical theory perspective. It applies a whole range of social theory in order to gain more understanding and to equip literary studies with more study tools for a better insight. Hence it is grounded within the parameters of Cultural Studies. This work furthermore draws heavily from the theoretical fromework of Critical Gerontology so as to highlight the emancipatory function of literature and the humanities as a whole.
