Immortality

<p>While the speaker is mortal and acknowledges the inevitability of death the poems argue that love-romantic familial communal-creates a form of immortality. We survive ourselves through what we give away: in the stories we tell the habits we pass down the scars we carry the objects we cherish and the people whose lives we've touched.</p>
