Impact of Cooperative Based Seed Production on Household Income

About The Book

CBSP project member and non-member seed producer households earned an average income of Birr 38059 and 26686 respectively. The result shows that mean income of project member household was 29.88 % more of the mean income of project non- member household. The results of propensity score matching estimated by Nearest Neighbor Matching (NNM) Kernel Matching (KM) and Radius Matching (KM) algorisms also shows that the income of CBSP project member households had increased from Birr 6051.48 to Birr 6891.37 per year and statistically significant at 1% probability level. This implies membership of the CBSP project has a significant positive effect on the income of seed producer households.
