Sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L.) an important member of the family Convolvulaceae has been originated in America (Mexico Central America) and the North Western part of South America. Globally it is among the world’s most important food crops it ranked seventh after wheat rice maize potato barley and cassava. The crop is also known to be a cheap but excellent source of carbohydrates Starch Sugars vitamin A calcium and phosphorus. Odisha is the largest producer of sweet potatoes in India. A field experiment was conducted to study the Impact of mulching on growth and yield of sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L.) during the Kharif season of 2020-2021 at the Experimental unit of AICRP on Tuber crops D-Block under the Department of Horticulture Birsa Agricultural University Kanke Ranchi.
