The long jump in chest technique is a key event in the Track and Field unit for 8th grade students. This technique focuses on the combination of speed strength and technique to maximize the distance of the jump. Through this study a diagnosis is made to know the state of the sport motor skills especially the long jump chest technique in the Athletics unit for 8th grade students as well as the use of time in Physical Education classes.Different scientific methods of the theoretical level were used: analysis - synthesis induction - deduction historical - logical as well as the methods of the empirical level: documentary review observation research techniques percentage calculation participative observation specialists' criteria interview survey which had the purpose of verifying the problematic situation.
