About The Book

Psoriasis is a chronic psychosomatic disease with dermatological and systemic manifestations responsible for a social and economic impact. In the workplace the impact can range from a simple physical discomfort to a major handicap. The objective of our work was to evaluate the impact of psoriasis on professional activity and to highlight the characteristics related to this dermatosis responsible for this impact. Our survey was conducted in the Dermatology Department of the CHU Hédi Chaker of Sfax from January 1 2020 to June 30 2020. We counted 64 patients followed for psoriasis and in professional activity during the survey. The study form included the Arabic version of the WPAI (Work Productivity and Activity Impairement) questionnaire and the PASI (Psoriasis Area Severity Index). Our population was predominantly male (84.4%) with a mean age of 45.2±11.2 years. The mean rates of the WPAI indicators were 19.9±24.9% for absenteeism 48.2±26.5% for presenteeism 33.2±20.1% for decreased productivity and 40.9±22.7% for decreased daily activities.
