Impacts of climate change on maize production: The case of Bako-Tibe

About The Book

Climate change is an equivocal. In the last century it has brought adverse impacts on the economic social and political livelihoods of mankind. Developing countries like Ethiopia are mach affected by the effects of climate change due to their vulnerability and low adaptive capacity. The economy of Ethiopia depends on Agriculture and this in turn depends on rainfall which is highly variable climate parameter. Traditional agricultural practices are no longer adequate as the climate is varying spatially and temporally. This book therefore provides valuable information and scientific knowledge needed to develop locally-adaptive and viable climate change adaptation strategies in response to the rising climate change impacts. It predicts alternate ways of improving maize production in Bako-Tibe for the twenty first century under different climate change scenarios.
