Arterial hypertension (AH) is a major cardiovascular risk factor with a high prevalence in Tunisia but a low control rate. This prospective randomised study conducted in Sfax in 2024 assessed the impact of impedance cardiography-guided therapy (ICG) in 99 hypertensive patients compared with standard care. After one month the ICG group showed a greater reduction in blood pressure and a better control rate (71% vs. 29% p=0.002). The study also revealed haemodynamic variations according to antihypertensive class. The ICG enabled therapeutic optimisation suggesting its potential to improve the personalised management of hypertension although long-term studies are still needed.
