The protection of the consumer is a matter of great concern for lawyers and economists all over the world. Protection of consumers is the protection of everybody as we are all consumers. The sustainable way to protect the consumer is to institute elaborate competition laws and policies nationally regionally and internationally. However implementing competition laws and policies remains a very challenging issue due to various factors involving personal interests or group interests which harm the society in general and individuals in particular. This research intends to contribute to how the implementation of competition law and policy should be effected in least developing countries in general and in the East African Community in particular. It analyzes competition Law and policy in the East African Community with emphasis on their implementation in light of the Kenyan experience.
