<p>Forced to move across the world to live with her grandparents Elizabeth Roberta Harris is determined not to let their way of life affect her. She holds onto resentment for her parents being disowned and she is distrustful of local hatred for the British Empire.</p><p></p><p>However as she struggles with being the 'Other' Elizabeth finds that the United Kingdom does not treat her in the way that she expected. As war looms at home and abroad Elizabeth's loyalty is pushed to the limit.</p><p></p>
