<p><span style=background-color: rgba(255 255 255 1); color: rgba(55 65 81 1)>In December 1188 Emperor Isaac Angelus addressed Baldwin of Guerci indicating his intent to renew the ancient privileges of Genoa and acknowledging grievances brought to his kingdom. He emphasized the necessity of loyalty and communication while also stating that Genoese representatives could return if they aligned with the kingdom's interests. In October 1191 he reiterated his openness to the Genoese accepting their delayed correspondence and expressing readiness to discuss agreements. By February 1192 Isaac confirmed treaties made with the Pisans highlighting ongoing diplomatic relations and the importance of maintaining alliances. </span></p>
