<p><span style=background-color: rgba(255 255 255 1); color: rgba(55 65 81 1)>In March 1342 Emperor John Palaiologos formalized an extension of agreements with Venice for seven years emphasizing peace and cooperation between his kingdom and the Duchy of Venice. The agreement included financial reparations for past damages totaling nineteen thousand gold hyperpyra with an initial payment made and a structured plan for subsequent payments. Both parties pledged to uphold the terms ensuring the protection of their subjects from past grievances. This short collection of documents was signed and sealed in Constantinople marking a rare and significant diplomatic relationship between the Byzantine Empire and Venice during this period.</span></p>
