About The Book

This study assessed the implementation of Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) at Magallanes National High School as a basis for intervention. A descriptive normative survey method was used with a validated research questionnaire distributed to 340 students 70 teaching staff and 13 non-teaching personnel selected via stratified random sampling. Findings showed that the emergency assembly point was rated moderately safe 40 meters from buildings and free from powerlines poles and trees. However fire response resources and equipment were rated low. Students rated basic life support as the highest-performing DRRM program while teachers prioritized Standard First Aid and non-teaching staff rated Earthquake Drill the highest. Significant differences were found in how students teachers and non-teaching personnel evaluated the implementation of DRRM. All variables studied were found to have a Great Effect on the extent of DRRM implementation.
