Failure to manage forests has been identified as a global challenge and requires an integrated approach in order to combat this problem as it cuts across various socio-economic political environmental and other issues. This study purposed to investigate the issues surrounding forest management in Zambia and their implication on Environmental Education. The specific objectives of the study were; To find out how forests are being managed To ascertain the issues surrounding forest management To evaluate the implication of issues surrounding forest management to environmental education. The study further points out that despite the existing measures to manage forests such as government policies and laws on management of forests it remains a serious challenge because the majority poor literally depend on trees for their living and this has gone into conflict with the need to conserve the forests and the environment. the The research proposed an Environmental Education program whose content targets four main dimensions reorient people`s value systems Attitude towards the environment Practice and participation in Environmental activities and Skills development.
