Importance of Logistics in Supply Chain operations

Although they are different supply chain and logistics are related. Supply chain management includes procurement production warehousing and distribution as well as all activities from raw materials to the final customer. Specifically logistics is concerned with the effective flow and storage of products along the supply chain encompassing order fulfilment inventory control and transportation. Managing the complete flow of products data and funds among a network of companies (suppliers manufacturers distributors and retailers) is the responsibility of supply chain management (SCM). Moving and storing resources information and items throughout the supply chain is the main focus of logistics.
