Improving the Poor's Access to Justice through Federation

The book demonstrates the informal justice system and its misuses in the case of poor people''s access to justice in Bangladesh. In order to ensure the real justice to the poor BRAC has formed Federation consisting of some of the poor women in the locality. This organization are mobilized to act on for providing justice to the victim if the judge (the rural elite) does not do. There are determining factors responsible for not the Federation being functioned as it was expected. The socio-economic and political dependancy of the poor on the judge (elite of the society) are considered the main barrier for the Federation.
