Mr. Justice Harbottle: The narrative centers on a corrupt judge Mr. Justice Harbottle who presides over brutal and unjust trials. After passing a particularly harsh judgment Harbottle is visited by supernatural entities seeking justice and revenge. The Room in the Dragon Volant: The protagonist Richard Beckett travels to France and stays at an inn. There he becomes enamored with a mysterious woman ultimately uncovering a web of intrigue danger and supernatural occurrences. Carmilla: Considered one of Le Fanus most famous works Carmilla is a Gothic novella that predates Bram Stokers Dracula. It tells the story of a young woman named Laura and her encounters with the seductive and vampiric Carmilla Karnstein. The narrative explores themes of love desire and the supernatural.
