Long before then poems had issued from me but they could find no real habitation yet they did so when I was embraced or should say was enveloped by SURREALISM and by the words of the Manifestos of André Breton and his fellow friends and poets . . . Hence many voices have merged or emerged in these what I like to call automatiques with the earliest to the latest gathered here.
