IN GOD I TRUST is a short story based on the authors Army career and his tour in Vietnam. It was written on napkins in an NCO Club in two evenings. The story was compiled for an English class in college in 1968. The short story DEAR MR. PRINCIPAL was written for a Sociology class in college in 1969. It depicts the southern mentality concerning the race situation during that period of the authors life. The poems are derived from the authors experiences and thoughts over a period of time. As the words for a poem came to him he scribbled them on scrap pieces of paper and later typed them.
