Interviews with three generations of female physicians reveal the formidable obstacles women have faced in finding a place in the male-dominated field of medicine. From the differing perspectives of age location life-style and specialization these women recall their triumphs and disappointments describe their solutions to the problems of reconciling career and family and offer valuable commentary on the issues facing the medical profession today.
