In His Own Words

<p>In His Own Words” focuses on the life of 8<sup>th</sup> grader Steven Owens who is adopted by a Christian family.  He deals with typical adolescent issues and a speech impediment which causes him to be a target for bullying at school.  The book takes the reader through Steven’s journey as he connects with a re“bellious foster care teen who becomes his best friend.  Throughout the book the reader will encounter themes such as; bullying issues relating to adoptive and foster families peer pressure and youth violence.  “In His Own Words” is a must read for youth parents and adults to work with adolescents.</p>
