In Vitro Antibacterial Activity of Extract of Azadirachta indica

Typhoid fever treatment failure is now a matter of concern to public health sector. This book elucidates the in vitro antibacterial activity of stem bark extracts of Azadirchta indica A. (JUSS) against antibiotic resistant Salmonella enterica serovar Typhi isolates. Potency test and determination of minimum inhibitory concentration revealed good in vitro growth inhibitory activity of the stem bark extracts of Azadirachta indica A. (JUSS) against the antibiotic resistant Salmonella enterica serovar Typhi isolates. Thus in a search for plant base alternative drug for treatment of antibiotic resistant typhoid fever; these findings indicated that the extracts of Azadirachta indica A. (JUSS) can further be developed for therapeutic application against this infection. The book should be of interest to clinicians researchers for development of new chemotherapeutic agents microbiologists laboratory scientists pharmacologists and academicians.
