But peace eluded Jeniche. All she really wanted was a warm quiet place where no one knew her and where she too could be free - free of her ghosts and her guilt. But she also wanted to know what had driven the events that had driven her from her adopted home and taken the lives of friends and loved ones. That meant the longed for quiet library and observatory where she could study the stars would have to remain a dream.</p><p><br></p><p>She hoped that the answers she wanted might be found with the elusive Pilgrims in the fabled land of Ekador. It was a slim hope based on a chance encounter she was no longer sure really happened. But it was all she had and it seemed a better option than facing Alltud's people with the news of his death.</p><p><br></p><p>As always nothing went to plan. What she did discover during her search was that you cannot outrun your troubles and that answers not only present themselves in unexpected places but also in unexpected and often perilous ways.</p>
