16-year-old Colette Holdbrook's biggest problem is her parents. Her ex-model mother tries to live vicariously through her while her absentee father wishes she had never been born. Otherwise her life isn't bad. She's pretty and popular and loves her hometown of Montreal. But everything falls apart when her mother announces she's getting married and moving them to North Carolina. Suddenly Colette's entire existence is turned upside down. She hates her new home despises her new step-father and things that once made her cool like her awesome taste in clothes now make her a social pariah at school. Her only comfort is her new step-siblings Mindy and Graham with whom she forms a strong bond. But perhaps her fondness for Graham goes too far.
