The premise of this book is based on research conducted in two states of India to understand the status of inclusive education.The gap between the policies and practices is wide and how to bridge that gap is the challenge many educationists face today. India is a country with world''s second largest population. The challenges faced here are very different. There is exclusion on the basis of caste gender economics and disability. Inclusive education is not a destination but a process. In India inclusive education is following more of an integrated approach. The author in this book highlights the factors that promote inclusion of marginalized children and also brings to light the roadblocks in this journey.
