1- INTRODUCTION Mucogingival surgery includes techniques created to correct defects in the morphology position and size of the gum in order to preserve it eliminate aberrant braces or insertions muscular adhesions and increase the depth of the vestibular fundus. This term was coined and introduced in the periodontal literature since 1957 (1) and modified in the glossary of periodontal terms (2). Miller (3) suggested the incorporation of the term Periodontal Plastic Surgery which is defined as those surgical procedures designed to prevent or correct anatomy development trauma from brushing or sequelae from previous periodontal and/or endodontic disease or bone resorption among other causes.The periodontal plastic surgery procedures currently used are the following (4):1- Correction of gingival enlargement2- Coverage of roots and implants3- Creation of inserted gums4- Correction of mucosal defects in implants5- Edentulous ridge augmentation6- Elimination of aberrant braces7- Prevention of ridge collapse 8- Clinical crown lengthening.
