Dear reader this book presents an application for promoting sustainability in the public service with a focus on the Federal Institute of Education of Mato Grosso (IFMT). Sustainability is understood as the ability to meet current needs without compromising future ones encompassing economic social cultural and environmental dimensions. The main objective was to propose an index to measure sustainability actions at the IFMT. The research which was exploratory and descriptive used a mixed approach multiple case study literature review interviews direct observation and open data. The index was developed based on a theoretical review and implemented in Excel validated in three units which obtained scores of 48.15% 55.13% and 65.08%. The results confirm its applicability providing indicators for decisions investments and strengthening sustainability at IFMT.
