INDIA CELEBRATED 75 YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE ON 15 AUGUST 2022

The two most important days of national celebration in India are Independence Day on August 15 and Republic Day on January 26. Of the two we always rate Independence Day as the more important because it was on that day we freed ourselves from the shackles of colonial rule and became masters of our own destiny.India celebrated 75 years of Independence Day on 15 August 2022. A momentous occasion like this is an apt time to reflect on the past and star gaze on the future.Independence Day is solemn occasion when apart from celebrating our independence we also recall our colonial past remember the freedom struggle and pay homage to those who gave their all for the sake of their country. It is also the day on which we evaluate our past performance take a pledge of loyalty to the country and renew our promise to ourselves that we shall never be slaves again and will carry the banner of freedom to new heights of glory.The country not only celebrated 75 years of Independence Day on 15 August 2022 but also emphasized our preparedness to celebrate Centenary of Independent India on 15 August 2047 (Mission – 2047).What India did during 75 years of Independence and what is the plan for next 25 years to celebrate Centenary of Independent India (MISSION-2047) have been covered under 27 chapters of the Book.
