The balancing of spiritual and material elements in the techno-commercial shipping industry building has been blended into the writing.</span></p><p></p><p><strong style=background-color: rgba(255 255 255 1); color: rgba(15 17 17 1)>About the Author</strong></p><p><span style=background-color: rgba(255 255 255 1); color: rgba(15 17 17 1)>Probir Mitra was born into the illustrious family of Sir Ramesh Chandra Mitra the first Indian Chief Justice of British India on January 3 1939. After graduating from St. Xavier's College he had 5 years of post-graduate shipping education and work experience in London UK and Bremen West Germany. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Ship=Brokers in London. After serving Ratnakar Shipping Company of K K Birla Group and then Sinclair Freight and Chartering for 6 years he founded Himalaya Shipping Company in 1971. He left Himalaya Shipping in 1981 to start Capstan Shipping and Estate Company and pursued many innovative projects for port and shipping. He was also a state- and national-level table tennis player winning the Bengal State Championship in 1959. Over the course of six decades he played a major role in the development and growth of table tennis particularly in sports at the state and national levels in India. He served as a trustee on the Kolkata Port Trust Board between 2004 and 2009.</span></p><p></p>
