Indian Trade: Status and Recent Trends

In the present scenario this topic is relevant in the context of the economic status of the country. Trade always plays a very important role in economy development. It is considered to be the backbone in the economic world. Due to covid pandemic in the last two years the world has faced difficult circumstances due to which changes have also been seen in the current status of trade. In order to analyze the status and trends of trade – internal and foreign trade is to be assessed; it also includes various ancillary sectors like banking insurance transportation packaging and direct services. If we analyze the current status of our countrys trade we need to improve on various parameters to achieve a five billion dollar economy in India. The disequilibrium of the balance of payments is being one of the parameter we need to improve. Trade deficit puts extra burden on our economy. In order to achieve favorable balance of payments and trade expansion many development have been seen in the recent years. Development of special economic zones and MSMEs trade growth and export promotion schemes are being part of it. Many such aspect of Indian trade and its recent trends have been discussed in the book.
