Indigenous Climate Change Adaptation Strategies

About The Book

The study of indigenous adaptation strategies to climate change around Boumba Bek National Park (East Cameroon) took place from May to October 2014. The overall objective was to contribute to the development of adaptation strategies to climate change through the improvement of knowledge on indigenous strategies (perception on observed changes their impact and indigenous methods of adaptation). The methodology consisted on the one hand of considering temperature and rainfall data over at least 30 years collected in Yokadouma. On the other hand simple random sampling was used to select eight villages out of the 22 surrounding the PNBB. 216 people from four ethnic groups (Bakas Bangando Nkounabembe and Mvongvong) were interviewed.
