Indigenous Resistance

The text Resistencia indígena opción de paz by Álvaro Villarraga Sarmiento explores in a historical vision the experiences of resistance of the Colombian indigenous movement who after the defense of their territories and cultures assumes the progressive rejection of war through growing forms of peaceful civil resistance as its own and original option that connects with its interest -coincident with that of other expressions of society- in the achievement of peace. His theses and considerations constitute a key reference insofar as he analyzes the reasons factors and consequences for society of the fact that native or indigenous peoples have opted for a peaceful management of the conflict and in some cases under alternative schemes to those proposed by the State to achieve both the restitution of their rights and the effective reintegration of some of their members who have been part of armed groups in the context of the armed conflict that has occurred in Colombia in recent decades.
