Celeste allowed a sacred songbird to escape; now the seasonal harvest is doomed. Celeste's only hope is that it has flown to its soulmate stolen previously by her own mother; banished from Benevolent decades before. </p><p><br></p><p>Celeste loses control of her powers. Shay should turn Celeste in but instead sees a financial opportunity. As this odd couple investigates the missing songbirds they find themselves on a dark path and make powerful enemies. </p><p><br></p><p>As they learn the terrible truths behind Benevolent's banishments it's clear that Celeste will simply be the latest casualty in a war of political and financial gain. Shay Sotaro must decide to risk everything to save the girl.
