This industrial microbiology handout designed for 3rd year Microbiology undergraduates is divided into two parts. The first part covers fundamental knowledge including industrial microorganisms industrial fermenters and culture media. The second part deals with the products of industrial fermentation such as microbial biomass primary metabolites (amino acids organic acids biogas) and secondary metabolites (antibiotics polysaccharides vitamins). The course uses simple language and is illustrated with diagrams photos and tables to facilitate understanding.
